For the truly unique, big-boat sailing experience we offer we feel our pricing is beyond competitive. A custom, ocean-going thoroughbred of this design and caliber (with hull built to most stringent ABS classification of "ocean racing yachts" and USCG rules and regulations for vessels carrying passengers upon "EXPOSED" oceans) simply will not be found anywhere else in the day-sailing charter trade.
The main reason for this being "MT-105" was built over an extended period of time as a labor of love by the very hands of the owner and captain himself rather than as a project meant to bring profit for profit’s sake to a shipyard. That represents a lot of built-in cost savings past down to you from the outset.
Secondly, you deal with us directly, bypassing a middle man who markets the product, sells the tickets and controls the schedule. This may mean more administrative work on us at our end but it definitely helps to keep cost down at your end, not to mention leaving a cleaner channel for more direct communications between us.
Thirdly, most sailors, (clearly not all), having been raised and learning their skills in a privileged, yacht-club upbringing, are more accepting of and apathetic to the higher prices normally associated with money-no-object "yachting," all of which does nothing to challenge status quo thinking to become more inclusive and help make the sport, proving so popular to some, more available to an otherwise uninitiated majority. We do challenge the thinking. The wind is free. Sailing and getting out on the water for a healthier and more positive, invigorating and inspiring perspective should be of interest and a priority available to everyone. Where some might celebrate and want to show off just how exclusive and absurd the cost of certain man-made, goods and services, we stand for the opposite, celebrating a reason for inclusiveness and benefit in sharing a value of legitimate quality for too long kept if not hidden then unreachable.
A fourth reason for our relatively low prices is that although structurally sound and completed for sailing, (having met all USCG safety standards for up to six passengers), the boat, to be honest, is still unfinished below, perhaps "stoic" to say the least, offering more of a get-out-of-the-weather storage and workspace than providing a fully dressed, multi-million dollar interior more typically appointed and worthy of such vessels. These savings we proudly pass on to our less discerning customers, more interested, we hope, in affordably getting out onto the water for a healthy and beautiful sail than seeking the attention and showmanship that only the finer details of a more perfectly finished yacht could provide.
So congratulations for having found us on the Internet. And now, if you care to leave those sunglasses on below deck, blur your eyes a little bit and pretend you're on a most exquisite, finely-finished yacht and be a little more willing to demand a little less of service, then, for sure, there's something in this for both of us: more sailing, a better time and higher quality sailing experience for less dollars spent. Did someone say lobster bisque? Nah, hot dogs for everyone!
Our plan is to open the horizons and level the playing field; to help make sailing, a sport traditionally reserved for the affluent minority, available to everyone. One way is with lower, up front pricing. Another way is with progressive pricing: the longer your sail, the less you pay per hour for time spent sailing. Another way is through "wholesailing:" The more times you book a sail with us, the greater your discount. Heck, at this rate, soon we'll be paying you. As a matter of fact, bring us some brothers and sisters to join the family and let's talk membership. ....and bartering. The whole world should be sailing. Why not in this day and age? In sailing we use the wind, but we don't use it up. What better way to come together and celebrate? Let's help each other bring down the cost so we can do more sailing ..... together.
Aside from the above mentioned reasons for saving money while sailing with us there are other tips and tricks which, as you sail more with us, will come to mind. (Hey, until we get to know you a little better we can't give away all of our secrets.)
